I don't know how to look this up, or figure this out...
My wife has stage 3 colon cancer, spread to 5 of her 7 lymph nodes. I recently lost insurance, and she hasn't had any for quite some time. From looking things up, laparoscopic surgery would give her at least a fighting chance..
I lost my full time job, and am currently serving tables at fucking IHOP, she can no longer work because of the pain...
How can I possibly get her to a doctor without taking on major medical bills. Social services? I tried to sign her up for Obamacare but open-enrollment is closed until November 1st and I'm writing this as I listen to her moan in pain 12 feet away from our bed.
I don't know. What the fuck. To do.
>closed until November 1st
that's like next week
My uncle was diagnosed with leukemia and was able to sign up for emergency Medicaid from the hospital he was diagnosed from. Ito available to the uninsured and paid for his entire treatment. There are people in the hospital that can help with this. Ask your doctor to direct you to the right person.
Move to an inexpensive area of Massachusetts. We have the best healthcare in the country- our state system is what Obamacare is based on. I pay nothing -literally nothing- for health insurance, and have access to unlimited therapy, physical therapy, free prescriptions, all surgeries paid, accupuncture, chiro, all specialists and dental... ALL PAID. FOR FREE. Don't fuck around with blue cross when you have cancer. I've been trying to get my grandparents to move up here temporarily while my grandpa battles pancreatic cancer but he's stubborn and now he's in serious debt. We also have medicinal marijuana. Make it happen.
I'm terribly sorry to hear that OP.
If I were you, I would get on top of everything ASAP. I know it's really hard, but talk to the right professionals, and I know you can do it.
I'm married, or even have a girlfriend for that matter, but the very idea of a loved one in pain hurts me just thinking about it. I hope she is able to get through, debt or not.

Incur the debt. Most hospitals allow younto pay like 20 dollars a moth on bills depending on income. You'd obviously rather have to make personal monetary sacrifices than have a bunch of money and anot empty life.
