I am trying to start my own business but with work and family, find myself with not enough time or energy to get shit done. I need some practical ideas for making money that will mean I can quit my (average paying) job and more importantly work less hours so I can spend time doing what I love. So, know any low-hour jobs or anything (legal)?
Work a shitty retail job where younger high schoolers work. The turnover rate is usually so high that they will do anything to keep you if you're a decent worker.

Nice idea. I used to work in a job like that, maybe I should've stayed. Doesn't solve the hours issue though, my main objective is more free time to work on my projects.

Tell them you only are available certain hours

Work an on-call job like tow truck. You get payed very well for the hours you actually work, and have a lot of time to work on your own project between calls.
Or work a job like night security, where you get paid, but can actually spend the time doing something else at the same time.

Yea that's a good idea. Security pays a little better than retail too.
