im getting a car soon and im having quite a dilemma what to choose.

you can build up your credit a bit with financing and shit. if payments are not a problem i'd say go for the better vehicle so long as you can afford it.

regardless expect to take it into the shop for small things.

im making around three times national average and about six times minimal wage. my wife is currently unemployed but thats likely to change soon and she used to make around two times minimal wage.

to make it easier for you im making about 2k USD monthly and have about 7500 USD saved up + my current car (opel astra h gtc - which was retarded purchase i realise that now) is worth about 3.300 USD.


Well i really like the insignia. wifey does not like any bmw's nor alfa romeos.
we need a decently sized car, so no small hatchbacks, nor 2 doored cars. also i feel i need at least 190HP and 2l engine, preferably diesel.

yeah, i feel the same way, but wifey kinda does not want any more debt. we have mortaged apartament, no big deal though, and i have lots of financial backup in case everything goes to shit - got big family house and two other apartaments in which my grandparents still live.

if you can afford both then my /adv/ is to go for the newer car, as the newer car will likely have less problems, as the better car may look cool, but you know what isint cool? putting money in for maintenance, like the other anon said, you'll only put the car in the shop for minuscule things...
