Hi guys, 25M situated in the UK. Therapist adviser blamed my problems on weed and referred me to drug counselling instead of CBT or proper talking therapy when I actually went to my GP to get help. Told me to come back in two months when I get clean. Problems predate cannabis use. I smoke approx 1g a day. Depression and anxiety still persists. Take prozac and propranolol for it. Advice?

What do you mean, am I in the wrong here?

Your depression meds don't really work if you also smoke weed (first hand experience here)
I completely agree, which is why I approached my GP seeking therapy as an alternative solution, but was confronted with the attack on cannabis scenario. The medication more so provides me a plateau to work with, they are effective to a degree and I am better off taking as prescribed, in that regard, to show that I am complying with my GP, but cannabis, to me, is a more effective anti-depressant than anything I have been provided with from the Health Service.
how long did the gp refer you to counselling?

Cannabis makes you too lazy, man. Also, it can increase your anxiety and bad feelings sometimes.

Now, I'm not saying you should quit cannabis, cause I smoke it too, but you should clearly put a clear restriction on its boundaries.
Like, you could only smoke on weekends, and such.
You need to get on with your life, improve yourself, find hobbies, job, etc.
