How do I find a cheap place to live? I'm about to start at Amazon and I'll be making $13/hr part time. I think I need my rent to be like, $700/mo or lower, not including utilities. Finding apartments isn't the hardest thing, but is that all I should be looking at? Are trailer parks a thing? Like a tiny shit house I can get internet at? I don't even care if the place I live in is even that great, just that I can get high-speed internet there, and I won't get shot.
Studio apartments in complexes usually include utilities because they are apart of a larger building. Some shitty places in the middle of nowhere are usually cheap. Maybe look up section 8 housing in your area.

Problem is that, even though I qualify for section 8, it would take me a really really long time to get approved. I'm a single white male at age 25. I would have to commute an hour every day until that happened unless I can get someplace soon-ish.
I mean, it's good advice, I will probably apply for it anyway, but I'd like something sooner. Unless you can tell me that Section 8 doesn't take all that long after all
Basement apartment.
Maybe shared apartment/house with roomate(s).

I meant look up apartments under section 8 listings because they are usually really cheap. You can still rent from them even you aren't on it.

Oh, good point, yeah. I'll do that.

I can probably get something with a roommate easily, but I'd like to live on my own if possible. Guess I should have said that originally. I am not above having a roomie, I just want to see if I can do it myself first.
What sites do people even use for this? Apartments.com always has shitty results for me. I guess you have to use a bunch of different sites?
