Backstory. I've been diagnosed and medicated for depression, anxiety GAD Social Phobia and a load of other shit for a few years. I've been on 150mg Sertralin aka Zoloft for over a year. It's not really doing it for me anymore so she siwtched me over to venlafaxin, starting from tomorrow.
Here's the tricky part. The hag told me to go coldturkey and immediately switch from 150mg sertralin to 75mg venlafaxin. Wouldn't this lead to a complete shitstorm in my head?

>depression is real
This meme really needs to stop.

>placebo is real
everything is real if you believe it is.
Anyone?

Shut up faggot

Yes, I'm pretty sure that will probably cause a shitstorm.
Just wean yourself off of it before starting this other medication
Coming off from setraline is way easier than from venlafaxine

Doubt it, I quit zoloft cold turkey, only side effect I got was those weird head pulses where you feel like you're falling/floating for a split second. Idk how else to describe them, but most people I've talked to on SSRIs know what Im talking about.
Venlafaxin is just another XXRI. These drugs just make it easier for your brain to slurp up unused serotonin. Unlike say an amphetamine which actually tells your brain to release more juices.
Serotonin also is more of a mood chemical rather than pleasure and as a result you might not really miss the Zoloft. Hard to explain what I mean but thinking about how when you feel sad/depressed you don't necessarily want to feel better might help you understand.
As >>17657683 said the new med will probably be harder to quit when that day comes, since it acts on norepinephrine which is a pleasure chemical, you will miss that. An example being again amphetamines where withdrawal can result in extreme boredom and loss of motivation.
Also why do people talk about their doctors so resentfully, I don't understand.
