It's starting to fuck with me man. I had a gf last semester and she wanted to liek marry me. I have my own place off campus, it's nice, no car tho. This isn't a problem unique to you, especially at your age, but you need to learn to set up the trap a little more convincingly. In school, or an environment where you see someone frequently, let the chemistry develop. Don't immediately ask someone out.

Plus, if you start asking girls out in high volume, they're going to consider you "that guy," the one who clearly doesn't like them for them, but any girl will do to fill that "someone please date me" void.

You really shouldn't be asking out any more than three girls a month, and even that is pushing it.

Be there, be you.

No one will notice you if you don't participate in whatever activities are happening. Talk to people, hang out, study with them, play sports, bring food, tell anecdotes, whatever it is that they do AND that you like to do.

That's step one.

Then, show interest in her specifically. Depending on group dynamics, it'll be harder or easier, but basically, build a relationship with her. Have jokes with her. Spend time with her. That kind of stuff.

And remember what happened to OP. Don't pretend to be something else, because you'll have to pretend for the whole length of the relationship. That's why it works in one-night stands but not with several dates.
