i used to think of running as the only genuine way to get high - pump your body full of endorphins, drench your muscles in lactic acid and just enjoy that sweet sweet feeling of muscle ache after a runner's high.

How on earth can we know what you find relaxing? Some people find jumping out of planes or loud discordant music relaxing, others find lying in bed with the smell and sound of the ocean relaxing, others find a night in the club and hot sex relaxing...

Walking around
Reading and music
The best way to do this things is without judgement. For example with drawing or painting people often want to do them "well" (which means photo-realistic) just paint like a kid.
I've found that having a routine is pretty good, I feel the least anxious when I have my day planned and I wake up early. Essentially, the deciding factor for me is waking up and leaving the house immediately. If I get out of the house in the morning, I'll have a productive and 'normal' day.
