Sure, but what if he doesn't die, retires on the assumption of a #YOLO attitude, and spends the rest of his life miserable and basically a pauper? The chances of him dying young are far smaller than the chances of him not dying young. There's no reason to live with a "I'm going to die soon so I need to live my life" attitude if you don't actually know if you're going to die soon.

It's not my fault OP is delusional. Retirement as we know it is a myth. The vast majority of the current population will never be able to retire the way the baby boomers did but if that's his goal then I support him in his delusional swan dive into the ditch.
