Where does /adv/ find women?

Long story short, just started at a PhD program in a new state.

I spent the large majority of my week at the program, with my cohort, but the only available women there are in their late 20s / early 30s, and at 21 I feel that's a bit old for me.

In the little bit of free time leftover, I joined a couple of social things, at the uni. But so far no luck there. One of them is gender segregated, the other just doesn't have many women participants.

Online dating would seem the obvious choice, but I don't really have any recent pictures. Would it be horrible to go to a studio for professional photos just for a dating profile?

What's my next move /adv/?

I started college at 18, graduated in three years, and went straight to grad school.

I thought this was common, but apparently most people take time off between undergrad and grad, so most of the people (women) I'm around are older.

Met my wife at the anime club at uni. Few months later, I started up an RP group, and invited her to join. Went to conventions and cosplayed with her. Five years later, I proposed. Been married almost 9 years now.
