How do you take a good photo of yourself when you're not a photogenic person? But without it clearly looking like some kind of professional photoshoot because then it just looks like you're trying too hard to make yourself look better.
Yeah, effort is lame

Difference is portrait look gayish

I just don't want it to look like I obviously paid for somebody to do a professional portrait of me. Because it will probably just come off as insecure and unattractive. But on the other hand, I think I look pretty ugly in most photos because I'm just not at all photogenic. And I know I can look better, because I was once with a friend who's a skilled photographer and he took some candid shots of me just hanging out where I look about 100x better than any other photo taken of me.

So get that friend to take more photos of you.
What do you plan on doing with this photo? Because in most situations, a professionally done photo is perfectly fine.

I want to photos on my online dating profile(s) where I don't look ugly. As for the photographer friend, I don't see him anymore because I moved away and the photos I'm talking about are kind of too old to use because they're like 5+ years old now.
