Then you are probably trying too hard. Yes, it is possible, and yes, it pushes women away.

You don't have to give up; you only have to deprioritize (though giving up is one way to do that). Build a life where you could be happy even if love never came. This is actually a rather important part of attracting women anyway, but it's also good insurance.
