san francisco sounds like your area.

its very liberal, ghey capital of the universe (second only to Uranus) and its considered the app center of the country as well if thats the kind of software you like.

its california yes, but the winters are real, you are buy the ocean. its not snowy from what i know, but it does get cold in winter, and not too devastatingly hot in summer like it does in socal.

i live in los angeles though and its nice, and i imagine any big city has some software jobs, but each one differs in how liberal it is.

move to melbourne in australia, it is definitely cooler weather, and there is loads to do around here.

the public transport system is also great, people are generally really nice. if you can find a programming job anywhere, you can find one here, too.

plus, you get to hang out with this cool guy
