I quit taking Kratom yesterday and it is a bit worse than I expected. This couldn't happen at a more inconvenient time as I am completely broke and have almost nothing but aspirin to alleviate it. The worst part is the restless legs. I woke up a dozen times last night, sweating and really uncomfortable. I feel very tired and low-energy but I can't just sleep the day away. I'm moving too much. It's a mild but annoying form of opiate withdrawal.
I'm staying with a friend who doesn't know I take this stuff. In fact, nobody really knows except for a few people. I'm playing it off as a cold/flu but I'm not sure how long it will last. Some people say 3-4 days. Some say you'll feel like shit for 3-4 weeks.
Should I like, try to go to a doctor and tell them I'm withdrawing? I really don't want anyone to know. Also I'm on probation so i can't just take a Valium or xanax like people suggest. If the court somehow finds out I'm seeking "treatment" I'll be screwed.
This might not be the proper avenue to solicit this kind of advice.

At least 20 grams. Dose of 5-7g 4-5 times a day. Never measured, estimated from tablespoon

Both antihistamines and dextromethorphan may help soothe withdrawal symptoms; both are mildly tranquilizing, and some people think that symptoms are at least partially histamine reactions. Rehabs used to use megadoses of diphenhydramine or another sedative antihistamine as part of the regimen for people kicking junk (some may still).
Try loading up on OTC nighttime cold medicine and see if it helps. Note that these are mostly full of acetaminophen, so do not under any circumstances combine with alcohol--acetaminophen is really hard on the liver (Tylenol ODs are a surprisingly common cause of liver damage or failure).
