The second obviously. Stupidity gets annoying real fast and having to spend time with a boring person is... well.. boring. At least average is not butt ugly and extremely beautiful people aren't necessarily sexy anyway. You know, sometimes people are really aesthetically pleasing, like a very nice piece of art, but it doesn't make me horny.

Technically... yes, that is correct. There is a moderately positive correlation between attractiveness and IQ. Less imperfections generally show that the person is more developed.

Option 2, I doubt myself and would probably never think the attractive person would stay with a loser like me

Average is pretty good, so obviously the second. But if they're flat out ugly, just like the first choice is flat out stupid/boring (the boring part is worse imo) I would choose the first choice. I'm not into dating anybody I'm not attracted to. I have lots of intelligent, insightful friends already.
