Is it possible to become a firefighter with only a highschool degree? I have the option to go to college/university. But lately I've been thinking about becoming a firefighter! Any tips would be much appreciated.

In my country (Sweden) you have to do a 2 year study at least.
I can imagine there being some sort of apprenticeship but it's nothing I've looked into.
I've been thinking about it as well, seems like a pretty cool job.

Aah cool! I think here in Portugal it might be the same. I'll have to look into it. I just hope the course won't require any crazy pres.

Here's a really bizarre off-the-wall idea. How about asking at your local firehouse?
In the US, you have to take 2 years of college. If you really want to be a firefighter, start working out and lifting now because the physical requirements are really steep--or at least they are here.

too much work!
just google 'firefighter requirements in XX'
and just to clarify OP, since you seem to be dumb, XX is a substitute for whatever your general location is (state should suffice).
