If work underpays you by 4 hours, how long should you wait until you try to involve the union?
I told them about it early last week, just received my paycheck and wasn't paid for those 4 hours. Should I just ask again before I make a complaint about it?

Nothing. some countries just have bad unions so they assume all unions are bad. This is really a question you should ask your union. See if they have a help line or something similar
