Maybe first check if your uni has cooperation with some US universities first. If I've understood correctly it can be a bit cheaper and easier to go if there's an existing collaboration link between the sending and receiving universities. Talk to exchange coordinators, they know these types of things and if there isn't anything they can recommend a place for you, because they have experience in all exchange questions.
