So I found this black X on my cats stomach it looks like a tattoo even anyone have any idea what it would be from? I adopted him from a shelter so I don't know his past, I'm assuming it would be from a surgery? Maybe when he got fixed?
strange, maybe it was from a UFO that or he was in a cat gang?

That's a pretty good explanation
Maybe they put a chip on it? Call the shelter, they know, not us.
vets do this so that other vets know it's been fixed

Yeah I suppose, I mean I'm not worried about it. Not like he's in pain or has abnormal behavior, just curious.
Usually done to signify he's been fixed. Especially if he's from a shelter, they would do that.

My shelter car had an 02 in his ear because that was his number from the cats dropped off by one guy. Could be anything really

That makes sense

no we don't do this.

What's the explanation then?

>The universal methods include ear-tipping, tattooing and microchipping. Each vet has her own preferred method.

There's a spay neuter clinic I've taken the fucking colony of cats outside my house to and they put a similar tattoo on them for that reason

Male cats too, though?
