get abreva and apply it liberally and frequently
ice can reduce swelling, but you want to use that sparingly as you want to keep the area as dry as possible
avoid fucking with it when youre not applying some form of treatment

Lysine. Lysine in copious amounts.
No food with andosine.
Sincerely,
Just got over one
Sometimes I'm tired of the shit ass replies in adv from people who don't know real shit.
Here's real advice.
Rinse your mouth with saltwater whenever you can. This will erase any bacteria in your mouth for a short time. Something I like to do is put salt and then an ice cube on top and burn the skin in the area off. My cold sores rarely come back after that.
Try oregano oil extract and dilute it and put it where you feel the cold sore coming in. It will for sure not survive.
If not, you can get olive leaf extract from Walmart or Walgreen's and take that every day for a week.
Put honey on the spot and let it sit for as long as you can. Honey is an antiviral and keeps the spot concealed.
Last, BOMB chap stick. Get the Walgreen's brand. It has beeswax, and a bunch of oils that are antiviral and bacterial. Amazing product. Gl op
That is some bomb ass dank ass advice, thank you much

Abreva usually nips mine in the bud. Also lysine supplements and avoid l-arginine rich foods for a bit. And don't touch or itch it. I usually avoid hot liquids around the area too.
