I have so much going on that I can't make sense of it all. Something is wrong with me but I don't know what. I want to be successful and liked, but its so tiring. What should I do?

inb4 kill yourself.

Give us a little more context and we might be able to help you man. Its hard when every question on this board is the equivalent of "I have a maths problem but none of the variables have values, what's the answer?"
>>
>>17512353
Thanks for evening answering. I'm not sure what the relevant details are. It's like I'm completely filled with feelings and knowledge, feels like I can't be filled with anything more. I want to become successful but it's almost like I can't/don't want to do anything to get there.

I have a loving girlfriend, a good family, friends who "care" (as much as they can I guess). Every moment is filled with thought. Thoughts that seem relevant at the time but become irrelevant in a matter of hours.

I can focus on a few things, things that are not really marketable or useful, like games or pornographic material. Everything else seems interesting for an hour at best.

Not sure what else to say for the time being.
>>
>>17512376
so are you saying that you want to become successful in objective terms, like money, material achievements, a good job, etc.? And you're finding it hard to stay interested and motivated on things that you reckon would be good avenues for becoming successful? Am I reading that right, or is that not the case for you?
>>
>>17512396
What you're saying makes sense. I want to make enough money to not have to work. And I'll get a bright idea, something that I think will get me there, but I'll lose interest when the going gets tough. Like when I have to work hard or learn something new.
>>
Become successful and liked. Read closely, I'm you to go and achieve every one of your aspirations. I'm just telling you to become successful and liked in some way. Maybe that is what's "wrong with you." Most people would be unhappy perceiving themselves in this position.
>>
>>17512445
So you're saying I should be come successful and liked in a very small thing that I can manage?
>>
>>17512408
thats normal, I'm lazy as fuck when it comes to knuckling down and doing hard work too.

If success is something you really want then you'll find the motivation in doing something that interests you. You can't force it. If you start doing something you love then you're going to spend a lot of time doing it, and eventually you might have a bright idea that you can act on.

Are you studying right now? Working? Have you found anything yet that interests you?
>>
>>17512466
My motivation seems to be closely linked with getting rich, probably so I can do all the things I like to do etc (think - The American Dream).

I'm working right now, I have a pretty good mind when it comes to pattern recognition, but like I said before, my interests change so much that I can't point one thing out. I could be completely interested in Yoga for a week, then I'll suddenly be interested in writing, and a week later, I'll be interested in something else (so on and so forth). The common factor between my interests is that I want to be the best, or that I want to "Master" that thing. But when it comes to the actual work needed to master it, I'll drop off and move on to the next interest point.

"Cool" things turn me off, I can't stand people who behave in a cool way. It always seems so pretentious and I can't get myself to -act- that way.

All in all, what I've mentioned and other things make existing very very tiring.

>My motivation seems to be closely linked with getting rich
If getting rich is your motivation then its not going to satisfy you, nor is it going to help you achieve that. Focusing on the result isn't the way to go. It's more about doing something that makes you happy, and the motivation --> ideas --> money will come later once you establish yourself in that field of interest. You have a relationship with your girlfriend because she makes you happy. Same goes with work. What specifically are you working in?

>"Cool" things turn me off, I can't stand people who behave in a cool way. It always seems so pretentious and I can't get myself to -act- that way.
I don't know what you mean by "cool" things. Can you explain?

I do quality control on digital products, basically check if all the code and visuals are ok and free of bugs. I like the parts of the job where I get to identify issues, I like it when the work is predictable and controller in a none boring way, like if there's always a different project but the methods are the same.

Cool things like going to clubs, woohoo let's drink the night away - because we're so cool. Pretending to be a unique individual by wearing fashionable items of clothing. Pea-cocking. Trendiness. All things that put on an image of excessive confidence. I find it hard to explain now that I think about it. Just think of a Chad character, the high school Jock.

>I like the parts of the job where I get to identify issues
You'll get that in a lot of public service jobs. Someone comes to you with a problem, you identify the issues and fix them. So are you into electronics then, is that the sort of thing you want to invest your efforts in?

>Cool things like going to clubs - because we're so cool. Pretending to be a unique individual by wearing fashionable items of clothing. Pea-cocking. Trendiness.
People don't do those things because they think they're cool. They go clubbing because its fun for them. They think those clothes look nice on them, so they wear them. I don't know about you but when I'm buying clothes I don't give a fuck about what people think, I just care about what I think looks nice. People aren't obsessing over trying to be an individual through those things because we're selfish humans and we're focused on ourselves most of the time. They're just doing these things because they think its fun/funny/nice/whatever makes them feel happy. As long as you do what you think makes you happy, nobody- least of all you- should give two fucks about whether or not its 'cool'. Coolness comes and goes as people's interests change but what stays the same is the fact that there are things you enjoy doing, regardless of whether people think they're cool or not.

Public service jobs? Like what?

I guess I know what you mean about people just doing what they like. In the end, I'm just jealous that I'm not as socially confident/trendy, it's a lot of effort for me to be like that, efforts that I'm not big on expending.
>>
>>17512679
>Public service jobs
It just means you serve the public. So anything that involves clients that come to you with a problem. Like for example the health field. Patient comes to the physio with pain, the physio tries to identify whats wrong and helps the patient to manage it.

>I'm just jealous that I'm not as socially confident/trendy, it's a lot of effort for me to be like that
So if being those things isn't something that makes you happy then it doesn't matter. Just focus on doing the things you're good at if you don't have the desire to be socially confident/trendy.

Thanks for trying to help Anon, I appreciate it. Gotta go to sleep now, it's been nice getting your perspective. I'll try to focus on the things I like.

Thanks again.
