Used to have a habit of getting drunk and discussing my former lovers, how they compared to one another, etc.; word got back to some of them, so now I have a handful of pissed-off exes. How does one smooth things over with a woman after you've blabbed intimate details about her to others?

Talk to them. One on one. Apologize, tell them you were drunk. You made a fool of yourself and you will not let it happen again. They don't have to forgive you, but at least you learned from your mistake. They have the right to be upset. If they hold it over your head and try to destroy you, then they are in the wrong.
