Oats and legumes (beas, peas, lentils). Insoluble fibre is important too but it stays rough whereas insoluble fibre turns soft as it's digested. You can supplement with psyllium husk as well, but I eat a lot of the foods I listed earlier and I've never found that I've needed it.

First things first, hit a drugstore and buy yourself metamucil and some kind of probiotics. Drink the metamucil as directed for the next three days, take the probiotics as directed until they run out. As you're doing that, increase your intake of water, aim for at least eight pints of water per day. Also, start eating some fucking vegetables, man.
