Hey guys, I've been kind of depressed lately. Ever since I was young I always wanted to do something with art for a living, like designing stuff for people or getting comissions, but I'm thinking I might need a new life goal. I'm already 28 years old, I've gone to university or anything like that to learn how to draw, so my art is always lacking in areas compared to other artists, plus I get into slumps a lot, so I'm sure I wouldnt be able to manage drawing stuff full time as a job, so what other kind of jobs are suitable for creative types? I would like to take a course or attend classes, but money is an issue for us right now.

got a tumblr or fur affinity? I'm always looking for new artists to commission.

>community college classes
>youtube tutorials
>internet guides
It's not that hard, anon. Most people learn solely from the latter two.

meant to say never gone to university

I don't know, I've tried following guides and tutorials, but I never seem to fully understand them, or manage to pull them off as well as the guide says. Plus I'm thinking maybe a differant job would be better, instead of trying to rely on something like art.

hey OP asked how to make a living off of his art, what better route is there for an untrained artist to break in than furry porn commissions?
Here's a pic that just popped up today in my tumblr feed, seems pretty lucrative to me.

Those chibis are pretty good actually

To be honest I got involved with certain weird fetishes in the furry community that I'm no longer comfortable with, and I'm worriedt hat people won't comission me because of that. Not that my art is super amnazing enough to sell anyway, which I why i'm thinking of packing things up and focusing on a differant career.

which fetishes?

I asked people to draw some weird cluster designs for me, with lots of boobs and genitals, But I want to focus on getting more normal artwork in the future from people, that everyone can enjoy, and thats what I would ideally like to draw as well. So I'm worried about what image i might be giving people online, since I asked people to draw weird stuff for me.which i shouldnt really worry about i guess, since I'm probably never going to meet those people anyway.
Have you thought about graphic and web design, op? It's a creative field and you can take some Udemy classes, if you want. You will have to learn some coding, though. You'll make more and find it easier to get jobs if you can design and also code that design. I do it for my main income and it's nice.
On the side, I'm on Instagram and I am active there, so I get occasional commissions for art there, too.
I'm 28 and I've just decided I'll learn to draw and nothing will stop me.
I'm working in /gd/ so I have additional motivation for that though.
Beside that I've always wanted to learn making electronic music. It's never too late for those things as long as you have time for them beside your normal work/education.
