College freshman here. I just moved in today. I feel like everyone on my dorm floor is a fucking moron. Like I just moved in and they're all bonding but I had a couple of conversations with them and they're all fucking so boring they just go nuts and keep bragging about how much theyre gonna drink to make it even more apparent that they were all losers in high school that never had the chance to do it. these are the only people I met so far so I feel dumb and lonely sitting in my room. I'm not physically repulsive or socially autistic, and I want to just meet some cool kids. Any advice on what to do my first week to do this?

Look into clubs for activities that you enjoy and join them. Try to stay open in your beginning classes and see if you can't meet 'cool' folks there. Consider joining Student Organizations once you've gotten a feel for how everything works.
Above all, though, try to save judgement until after you get to know people. Lots of College Freshmen adopt personas to attract new friends because they're nervous. Don't give up just yet, but don't torture yourself if they really do turn out to be dinguses.

Seriously, though, even people you don't immediately think are cool can turn out to be pretty cool. But you won't get to find out if you dismiss them as morons after 10 minutes.
