Hey /adv/, I need some help.
So, I've been offered a spot in different film and game development courses at different universities, but the problem is, I don't know what to choose.
On the one hand, I absolutely love films, and would love to be able to work on films, but holy fuck did I hate high school English and all the analysis of symbolism and themes and shit. Practically ruined the few good books that we read for me.
And on the other hand, I'd really like to program video games for a living, but I can't stand to actually play video games anymore. I get so bored so fast from anything.
What do I do? I don't really have any other subject choice because nothing else interests me.
Film. There's tons of jobs in the film industry that don't require you to think philosophically.
Cinematography, sound design, editing, just to name a few

Just do both. Bet on the formation, and do film projects on the side. If you don't get a place for a movie, the formation ensures you can do shit anywhere.

Thanks. And yeah, true, the course says that by the end I'll have extensive skill in a bunch of different stuff involved in film.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to do both, though I'd like to.

Go in to games. Film doesn't need more of people like you.

Music starts

You can't always get what you want - the rolling stones
I would just like to add, if you go to any game dev career page you will see that they are ALWAYS hungry for programmers.

Even in Australia? The gaming industry isn't so big here. But then again, neither is the film industry.

>Even in Australia?
Yes, literally everywhere.
