because you're in a bed and not actually capable of moving very much. There is a conflict between the reality (you in your bed) and the dream. Your subconscious state still plays a part in the dream.

What you resist persists. The reason you cant flee nor fight effectvily in your dreams is that your facing something theres no escape from. its all subcouncious shit you have to look at what issue in your life you are avoinding dealing with . Just my 2c
