Do you know what you want to study, what kind of career you want to go into? If not, get yourself a job and take a year or two off to figure out what you want. There's no rule that says you have to enroll as soon as you finish high school, and in fact, I think MOST people would get more out of higher education if they took a few year to make plans and get some real-life work experience. I know so many people who graduated with useless degrees, or ended up in careers completely different from their course of study.
