Someone posted my real name replying to a post I made on /co/ while I had some artwork I had done posted. I keep my artist pseudonym separate from my actual name due to the pornographic and offensive art I sometimes draw... the person also suggested, I stop playing a game I had open at the time on steam which is how I know it was someone I know irl because I never give people I met online my real name, nor do I ever give them my steam.

I just wanted the separation between my artist name and my real name among people I didn't know personally. I don't give a fuck if governments know who the fuck I am, I only cared about regular joe shmoes not knowing who I was... and I valued that separation greatly.

why does anyone at all know both your work and your real name?
if this was just an internet friend and you revealed both your name and work, it's a huge fuck up.
if you told so many real life friends about your work that you can't narrow it down, it's a huge fuck up.
furthermore you just announced again specifically where someone could find your real name if they wanted to look into the archives. you could've just said "some guy posted my name on another board".

as for dealing with this, you really can't if they're not confessing. the best thing you could do is nuke everything, then start over at a later time with a new pseudonym, but this time KEEP YOUR FUCKING MOUTH SHUT ABOUT IT.
