Anyway, to answer your question specifically, there is this quote, along with picture related:

The point is that motivation disappears. I am sure you have tried this - get super hyped up by an image, a video, a song, etc. Then, after a day or two, it loses all meaning and does nothing for you.

On the other hand, trying to be a cold, efficient machine just isn't how we work. That's why I sort of encourage people to go to tournaments, share your work on forums, etc.

Getting feedback and praise may keep you motivated. I actually don't do this myself, but I think it's a mistake. Getting hyped up for something definitely gets you going, at least. I do believe most things have to be a well-planned grind though.
