Been dating a girl for a month now, we have not made it official but it is definitely going that way. She likes me a lot and I like her. Her birthday is coming up in early September and I want to buy her a nice gift. Now I make very good money and I'm pretty sure she has an idea that I have a good salary, so I don't want to cheap out on the gift but I don't want to spend too much because we are in the very early stages of our relationship.
What are some good gift ideas and how much would you guys say the max I should spend?

Do take her out to a candle lit dinner at a quiet, elegant establishment (make reservations ahead of time) and dress nice for her. Shave and wear cologne. And bring with you a bouquet of gorgeous red roses (one for every birthday she's had plus one for every day you two have been dating) coupled with a beautifully hand written letter expressing your deepest feelings for her and wishing her a very happy birthday.
