Hey /adv/ I'm sperging out over nothing and I need your help.
I'm interested in getting to know an acquaintance I've "known" for like 7 years. (classmates, and attend same public Uni)
We barely interacted before now, and only recently she offered me a place to stay in between apartment leases (after I asked publicly for help)
It turns out that I was able to work out with the landlord a move in early day, so I won't be needing the help, and told her.
We have a lot of similar interests, but no real mutual friends. Im not interested in dating her, just want to be friends. How do I fucking talk to her? Over text, no less...
Is it cool to just slide right into conversation after she acknowledges my message? Start off with asking how her summers been?
I just feel stuck because I'm making a pretty strong distinction that I've only talked to her for "business," be it project or such.
Help me find my tongue.

Sometimes you have to have some conviction and confidence mate. Think of it like this, she could well have easily ignored you, like I imagine most other people did. But she actively offered you a place to stay. If she wasn't in the slightest bit interested she wouldn't have done that.
