What kind of firearm/weapon should I get to protect my apartment and my shit from thieves/bandits/niggers/raiders?
Research local laws. Find out what is legal. Try everything within the legal bounds. Select which is most ergonomic to you. Train with it often.
Do not get attatched. If you have to use it, the police are taking it away regardless of justification or legality.

That's actually good advice. I didn't think about that. Thanks!

First line of defense: don't live in an high-crime zone.
Secondly, do you think your raiders will be armed? If you think so, move already. In many places the law gets a lot harsher on the thief if they are armed, so they might not be.
Third, get a dog. Nobody raids a place with a guard dog, when there are some without.
If you really want weapons, your best bet is probably one of those pistol-shotguns, or some kind of rugged rifle that will work mostly as a more intimidating baseball bat. But if it gets to that, you're really in a bad neighborhood, most thieves should flee when seeing you and your dog.

Also, if it's a firearm, go take a ccw class, even if you don't intend to carry. An instructor worth their salt will cover biological, psychological, and legal aspects of having to use force to protect youself.
