Does anyone else's friends only hangout if you text them first? Why do they do?
Some of mine do. It's because they're introverts and homebodies or too lazy to organise something.

the problem is that them not texting you first is the thing that bothers you

as a general rule i was only able to get a 1 on 1 with my friends if i initiated, and even then it was by no means a guarantee. towards the end it was virtually impossible.
they would reach out weekly to invite me to board game night, but at this point in our relationship i was nothing more than another opponent to fill up the roster. if i wasn't consistently in the top 3 players i doubt id get invited back.
when i came down with brain damage he didnt bother texting me for over a month. when he did, it wasnt even to ask how i was coping with it all. just 'wanna play board games?'
he reached out again a few months later on my birthday, asking how i was dealing that time and inviting me to board games again.
feels bad man, im not going back to game nights, but i miss him a lot more than id like to admit. i cant even understand why but i always thought of him as a really close friend. I think its cuz one of the first htings he did for me was a total bro move, a real solid. and it just felt like instant bro-hood.
im glad its over. but i still miss him.
