Any Ausfag science grads in the house? After deferring postgrad I've found that my Bachelor's in Chemistry is fucking WORTHLESS in this country. I, and all my graduate friends, are working as baristas/bartenders/retail associates, because we can't find anyone willing to employ us, even with medium-hard STEM degrees.
It's not as if my communications skills are lacking either. I've done B2C sales and written for publications before. But I'm sick of working nights and weekends.
Are there any options I haven't considered here? Is there any way to get a dece job without going back to school right now?

My current job is a bit more flash than maccas, but not much.
Go back to school, study law or finance.

Very few degrees are worth much without doing post-grad, didn't you know? All that really gets you a job in your major's field without post-grad study is medicine, law, accounting and engineering.

I don't give a fuck about my major's field. I just want a proper job.
A few years ago in Aus there was this big push for people to enter STEM education because apparently it was the wave of the future. Government backed and everything. Now we're all washed up with no jobs.

Get a job at Mecca

Unfortunately for you, a lot of other people fell for the STEM meme and now it's pretty saturated. Start applying for any job that takes people with a degree.

Become a carpenter !

Cook meth cunt. Seems pretty popular these days with our fellow feral peoples.
Otherwise look for a job as a lab tech or assistant. Pathology, etc..
Why the fuck didn't you go Chem Eng ?
>>17439809
Been trying with lab tech stuff. It's cooked though. I've got mates who majored exclusively in pathology and stuff who still are having trouble finding lab jobs.
I didn't do chem eng because family/careers advisors said that regular science would give a broader base or subjects to launch a career off while still giving me great prospects. We all figured out that was a lie when we graduated I guess.

Honestly half considering going back and doing a chem eng degree. Only trouble is I hear engo's career outlook isn't as good as it sounds anyway.
I got into postgrad law last sem, but that career outlook was fucked as well, so I deferred out after a couple classes of professors telling us we'd never get jobs and never picked it back up.

Lots of opportunities in the mining and oil/gas industries in oz for chem engineers.
Have you looked around to see if you can get in with your degree ?
Couple of ideas.. Police forensics. Could be interesting.
Get secondary in education and be a science/chem teacher at a school. Good hours and holidays but average pay.
Any army/adfa officer roles for that degree ? Should be 70kpa+. Just do the min service time and move on. Companies usually have a hard on for ex officers.

No chance OP will be able to get in without engineering qualifications, especially now that the industry has had a downturn.
