Hey /adv/
Quick question...
How do you deal with bad habits your significant other does?
For instance
>gf lactose intolerant but gives no fucks
>loves milkshakes. Makes 1 pretty much a day, would have 2-3 if i didnt stop her
>complains about typical intolerance issues
>"anon, am i getting fat?"
>tbqh senpai, i tell her yeah. Just cut back on shakes
>"omg anon ur so mean!"
>mfw
Then:
>be me at bar with m8's
>have some cigs at the bar
>OMG ANON I CANT BELIEVE YOU WERE SMOKING THATS DISGUSTING LIKE LITERALLY THE GROSSEAT THING EVAR!!!
I can deal with her explosive road rage, but i cant let her schlop shakes all day and turn into a tub of lard. Like i love the girl but damn... Double standard or nah?

I don't think it's really possible to change others unless you are absolutely amazing and they think you are a god descended to the mortal realm.

Not change, just cut back.
She knows how they make her feel but continues to do it to herself.
Like i dont wanna enable, but i dont wanna be the bearer of bad news either...

It's a sort of a double standard for both of y'all. You don't want her to be ugly and she doesn't want you to die of cancer or whatever.
Get her to make fruit smoothies instead so it's healthier. No ice cream, no milk

from my experience , you can't really CHANGE them
so
you either deal with them, and or the person has enough empathy/understanding that they try to adapt to your preference
or
you leave IF it gets to an unbearable level
