What jobs are better than retail?

I've worked it full time for two years now. For a while what kept me going were my coworkers and awesome regulars but unfortunately we've gotten some new people in the last five months and they're god awful. Management has gotten extra lazy and I find myself having to re explain to them how to do the "newbies" job every day.

On top of that, with what's going on in my home and family life, I just CANNOT handle the customers. I have some awesome regulars but when I get bad customers they're super bad. The majority of people who shop in my store are middle aged or older. I NEVER see someone under 40. I've had a lot of especially angry suburban white moms lately and I can't stand feeling like a baby sitter to my coworkers anymore. I'm ready to leave.

Most better jobs require education or training of some kind. But I don't have to tell you that. What you would consider a better job comes down to personal preferences. Do you just hate retail customers, or do you hate the entire idea of interacting with the human race for your job?

If you hate people and don't want to get an education, do data entry. It is easy as fuck and it bored me out of my mind, but to each their own. As long as you have a good output, you're left alone all day.

If you don't mind people, just hate retail people, then healthcare is a good area. You can get a job setting appointments and/or checking in patients without any education. Do NOT get into medical transcription, the field is VERY dead, and they won't hire you without a certification, which you have study and pay for.

I don't mind people for the most part. For awhile there I was working in the drugs and clothing department at my store but managment put me up front on the registers again saying that I'm the only competent cashier they have anymore.

I wanna say I believe I have receptionist experience too, because I'm also often put in the front desk of the store handling returns, customer and employee phone calls, memberships, and other things too all on my own.

A lot of my coworkers say I should become a manager here but it feels like I'm already doing manager work and I HATE it.

The things you listed are definitely worth looking into though, thanks!!
