"I feel like I'm going nowhere in life."
What do twenty-somethings mean when they say this? I'm 22 years old, doing very well in my studies and professionally, and although I don't know exactly how I'll end up, I feel like I know where I'm going in life.
Do you ever say you "don't know where you're going in life"? If so, in what way?

Well, it's complicated. But simple at the same time, you really need experience to understand it.
Not sure how to put it into words though.

many people who say 'i feel like im going nowhere in life" arent in school. and those who are tend to not love what they are studying and that make sthe unknown of the future more scary.
you feel like you're going somewhere becuase you are on the right path to go somewhere, but you are also the kind of person who can make wherever he is at 'home' or enjoyable. you tend to appreciate wehat is happening in front of you. so even when you're working a bad job, you dont feel like its soul sucking becuase you can simply talk to your co workers, and have a good (Enough) time
"I'm not going anywhere" is code for doing nothing productive. These people are very likely to be NEETs.
