I'm just so bored and slightly depressed this summer. I start classes in September and I only have a handful of plans till then and I don't have a lot of friends in general. I live close to my country's capital where I guess a lot of things happen. Any ideas how I can spend my time?
Just realized uneventful is a word oops

pick any hobby and get extremely good at it with the time you have on your hands. attend meetups and events related to your hobbies in that big city you live close to

Meetups and events such as what? I see events on Facebook but normally they're not things people attend alone
I'll never understand how people can get bored because they have too much free time. I just can't see it. You live in a world where there are so many ways of entertaining yourself that you can't even try them all before you die. There are thousands of books to read, shows to watch, places to visit, videogames and sports to play, people to talk to, foods to eat, imageboards to shitpost on, drugs to experience with, music to listen to... the list goes on. How come you can't find one single thing that entertains you?

Get /fit/, brother

Well I'm mainly bored because I like to hang out with other humans, I can read and stuff but it doesn't feel as meaningful as being with people. I'm just bad at meeting em

This is a good one, I'll try to go to the gym 3 times a week instead of "when I feel like it"/1-2 times a week. Still feel empty but I'd look good at least
Hey Terry Pratchett audio books and enjoy your self

I noticed that when people are bored it really means they can't do what they want. I'm bored because I want to work but the company I interviewed with is too busy to train but they could call me any day.
Shit happens

Go on walks. Listen to a lot of music.

I've never really gotten into audio books. Where do you listen to them?

I guess Pokemon Go is good for this all

i'm just like you OP, except my summer is runing out, and i classes again the 9th august.
Well my problem was comming home from living in a dorm with alot of people and the daily action with people arround you, to my hometown where nothing happends, we dont even a shop or anything to do.
I'm a bit lucky i had a job in the city as a part time "Farmer" that kept most of my summer busy, and i made quite alot of money.
Problem is, i have 1 more week before classes start, and I'm currently in a summerhouse with my grandparents, its nice and everything. but what can i do? i already worked alot in their garden, helped arround the house, and shit. but im borred, what can i do?

That sounds like a pretty nice summer to me, spend time with your grandparents and shit. Or bike around the town.
