Yes and no. It's really just to break ice, that's all it does. If you have common interests it can easily become a relationship. Also, if you just want sex that's obtainable too. Tinder is just an icebreaker, nothing more.

I should disagree, at least in the country I live in (Italy) Tinder is where women go to have a self-esteem boost and seldom anything more.

Young women who just hunt for the left swipe just like they hunt for likes on instagram or wherever and old 50+ wrinklebags who are desperate to prove to themselves and the rest of the world they're in fact still 30 somehow.
