ITT: Fucking useless advice /adv/ regularly gives
>just be yourself

Thereis a venting thread around here, try going there instead next time?
Also, what did you expect from 4chan? Some serious life advice for free? Most people here are in their teens.

There's no real recipe for anything faggot.

The biggest problems I have with the vent threads is people usually never respond, sometimes I just wanna talk about my situation and usually you don't get responses in them
Also,
>Just move on
>Forget them

because nobody cares. Just Be Yourself.
>just be honest

"stop giving a fuck" is probably the worst offender. Not only because it isn't that simple, ever, but also because it's impossible to just "not give a fuck" and not observe as your entire life crumbles around you.
"just don't give a fuck" is the attitude of wannabe sociopaths and also actual sociopaths.
>get over it
>stop being insecure
Basically any "stop feeling feelings" comments. Completely unhelpful, and you can't tell the people who leave them aren't even concerned about being actually helpful either.
And it's not that I don't like tough or hard advice, like I generally agree with advice about being honest, because that's an actual specific action that anyone can do. It's not easy, but it's within a person's ability, unlike changing their very feelings by will.

Advising you to tell the truth is not useless advice. There is no secret to telling the truth, you just nut up and do it.
A lot of people come here wanting advice about how to be deceptive or how to say something without saying it and thats a really dangerous way to learn to carry yourself as an adult.
Being honest is like jumping in a pool. Even though you know it might hurt you or the other person or force you into an awkward conversation you often just have to do it.
Just be honest. Being upset because the answer to your problem is simpler than you want it to be does not mean its bad advice. Shying away from conflict by being deceptive or avoidant is, however, bad advice.

As someone who is running away from their past, I sure as hell am not going to share what I'm hiding even though I feel bad about lying.

I agree. I think so many anons could solve their problem by reading word for word their post to their SO or whoever.

Sociopaths are the main characters of history bro. Humanities superheroes and supervillains are basically the same types of people, the only difference is if they were on the winning side.
