How do I book the cheapest flights, bus, or something?

I'm a fuckup who is new to this stuff and I'm tired of talking to hispanics who can't understand me when I'm just trying to find the cheapest way to book a flight or bus round trip somewhere for a weekend.

My mom just bought tickets to Mexico on fareboom.com

I thought it was a scam, cause tickets were ridiculously cheap. I never heard of the website, and so I checked out yelp reviews. It was legit. I guess just scope around online. Check it on yelp if its a no name site. But also try like Expedia. Trivago. Travelocity. Also, I don't know much about shopping for bus tickets. But sometimes they offer discounts, like student discounts. Or traveling weekdays special. Etc.
