I'm Singaporean and I grew up in the states. I am currently studying at uni in Singapore and I am now in Germany. It's for a study abroad session during summer. I was grouped with a group of people I didn't know in advance from my uni and we are all studying German.
I love Germany a lot. I think the food is good and I like its beautiful streets and sceneries. However, the people traveling with me tend to talk about how they don't really like Germany, they want to be back home with their families, they dislike the pace of like here, etc. Is this a cultural difference or just the group of people I was traveling with?
Its normal. Home is where the heart is and some people are more vocal about it than others. That said maybe you can mix with other groups who may be more enthusiastic.

So is knowing that you will miss that country after you leave NOT normal?
>food
Jesus, German food is crap.
Meh I'm summer studying in Germany now and have been here for almost six weeks and I like it a lot better than America. Although it's probably because I've always wanted to live in a bigger city than my home city, and Berlin is really cool
Where are you op? I'm from the states as well and studying in Germany.
