Here's the question guys:
>going from hourly pay to salaried pay at job soon
>was recently given new responsability
>based on how well I do, that will determine my pay
>I'm doing so well I have 1-2 hours of free time
With that extra 1-2 hours, I could easily do some of my coworker's work---who she herself was suggesting that I would be taking on her work possibly. But my boss didnt do it yet, saying he didnt want "crush me" with too much work.
Should I ask about taking on that work now....OR, should I wait until the meeting where they discuss my salary, wait to see whats offered and then say "But how much would I make if I took on (coworker's name)'s work?" I've always heard that when a salary is offered the first time, thats the best time to negotiate it as its the biggest jump in your pay you will get going from hourly to salaried.
Any advice with this?

You have free time.
If at all possible, don't do anything extra at your level, but do it at the level above yours - teach your coworker how you can do everything so fast.
