I washed my electronic weight scales with water and washing up liquid and now they won't work. Glass style with metal strips on it.

Typically, people are smart enough not to get electronics wet to avoid breaking them, and know to disconnect all sources of power from the device and give it plenty of time to dry when washing it.

the scales came back to life after drying them out a while. it seems that the moisture was causing some sort of problem with one of the sensors.
