I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this /adv/, but can someone tell me what this is? I'm not sure if its cause my manager had to turn off the water supply yesterday throughout the whole building, but its slowly been appearing ever since and this is the worst one I've seen

I guess the water is back on now?
Keep it running. Like, keep it running for 10 minutes. If the water doesn't get better you call your manager (landlord?) and tear his face off.

Probably sediment from your water heater/boiler

My bad I worded it wrong I guess, its been on since yesterday and ever since it was turned back on, it slowly started to appear but would be washed away with the water, but would reappear again. I'm worried thats its something in the water

How long would that take to go away then?

Is there construction work being done outside of your home nearby? Sometimes workers accidentally damage the pipes carrying water, creating holes/cracks, and causing soil and other particulate matter to get into the water.

I live in an apartment, but no, there isnt any construction work outside

what kind of pipes? galvanized? drain backing up maybe?

Idk, he just left a notice the day before that they were shutting down the water in the building due to a plumbing emergency and this is the third time this month
Call your local building inspection and health department the next time you see this happen. It'll get fixed.
