What inspires you, /adv/? In my case, it was poetry, at least

This is gonna sound kinda gay, but I think in my case, it's love

Not that I have anyone that currently loves me, but I think the idea of finding someone who wants to love me as much as I want to love them is something that propels me forward in life- I spent a good portion of my life doing bad stuff, seeing bad stuff, and having bad stuff happen to me that I just want to be kind to someone who will in turn, be kind to me

Either way, the idea of love has cause me to do things I never really had the courage to do, and opened me to ideas that I never thought about before. Yeah, I've been shot down and dumped and rejected, but each of those experiences was something that taught me a lesson, gave me a different outlook, gave me a new experience- shit like that. It's been the biggest factor for me when it came to scary decisions, and I'm grateful for the experiences -good and bad- that came of those decisions.

Poetry is good, but also classical music. I do enjoy composig some trailer shit in my times of loneliness. Have you tried writing some? I wish I had someone with whom to discuss and compose--I once did, but most people in those circles are pretentious, unintelligent twats who haven't even done their homework.

Playing Bach,
at it's worst it still suppresses most conscious thought and helps me cope.
At it's best (it's been a while) it's transcendental.
Aside from that life is mostly chasing distractions lately.

If I were home I'd give you some stuff to listen to; it's rather sad that /mu/ can't even keep a classical general going steady. If you're into violin concertos, I'd advice you checking out Jascha Heifetz's versions of almost anything, I love the guy. You should listen to the ver famous concertos first (Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn, Sibellius), they are so for a reason. I also like his showpieces quite a lot.
