Any government workers here. I'm interested in pursuing an IT career but I was told that in order to make my resume look more enticing I would need to sign up and take a civil service exam. I live in New York so I looked up Civil Service and my question is what is the criteria for taking these exams. For example, if I take a "Programmers analyst" should I be studying C++, html, etc.?

Well, if you wanna be a Programmers Analyst you should learn languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Ruby, etc. Most job opportunities out there asks for C# and Java.

HTML, CSS and JavaScript is useful if you're planing to be a front end developer, but I don't think it's your case.
