I wouldn't drink if she didn't know you were going to do it. That would be awkward. Otherwise, whatever. On the other hand, you don't want to get dependent on alcohol to endure social situations.

This is entirely anecdotal, but alcohol barely helps me in social situations anyway

Alcohol helps. Get tipsy but not drunk. It will relax you and you wont freak out so much.

i would 100% have a can or two before, especially if you're not really into drinking.
I'm from the UK lived in america always found myself at shit parties and also found drinking was defo the way to endure and at least be some what sociable

If you're not interested in dancing there isn't much you can do to make yourself like it. Just go to the festival, tap your foot, whatever. Let your girlfriend have fun dancing and don't stress about it.

Just be present at the festival. No one's focused on you. Enjoy the music and company of your gf. Really just go with it. I had a similar mindset when I first started going to shows. If the music is groovy you'll naturally sway with it. Even if it's just gentle head movement.

Get a buzz only if you are capable of controlling your consumption. You don't want to be/get shitfaced.

Also, in the future try Phenibut, it helps me whenever I have to be in crowded places. But be careful with it, never use it more than 1-2 times a week, as your body gets resistant to it very fast, and large doses will give you the something similar to a soul crushing hangover.
