Ive been going to school at the local community college for the last two semesters just taking math classes and prerequesits and im starting to think that a 4 year degree is not for me. i work full time and i enjoy hard labor much more than just sitting in class listening to a lecture, so the idea of being in class for 4+ years, not earning money seems like a waste to me, and just for it to lead to a desk job that i would probably hate as much. I want to get into a trade, preferably plumbing or hvac but dont know which route to take. I can get an aa in hvac/plumbing or a one-year certificate, or should i try and apply for an apprenticeship.
Both? A certificate would help but a degree in that area would be best. I would suggest doing the certificate program and looking for an apprenticeship while you go to school for that. And then once you have that all settled go to school and get your degree while you go to work doing what you like.
